Day 6 – Inveroran to Kingshouse 15.5 km

Do not ask me what this blip is.

Today’s hike was other-worldly beautiful. The Rannoch Moor is stunningly bleak and beautiful. There are no sheep here. I believe it’s because the heather and mosses in this bog are too thick for them to walk through. Not sure if that’s correct.

Here, the WHW follows an old military road. We encountered many friends made over the last 6 days. We also made some new ones. This is a very social hike. People are friendly and kind.

Campsite not far from our hotel. Many people wild camp on the WHW.

Eventually, the Bucahaille Etive Mòr becomes visible. Much of the James Bond film Skyfall was filmed in these parts and at this munro in particular. This is very near our hotel. We are, once again, staying in a Bunkhouse – four bunk beds to a room: Doug & 3 ladies.

Our feet are holding up fine, by the way. Incredibly fortunate with the weather so far.
