Hiking Itineraries with Florence & Katja

Said to be the toughest stretch of the WHW I would say we disagree. Another day along the shores of Loch Lomond, the footing resembles the rougher parts of the Peninsula section of the Bruce Trail. A bit slower going and undulating but doable. We both found yesterday tougher.

Half way through the hike we ate lunch in Inversnaid. We did not hike all the way to Inverarnen, rather caught a ferry to our hotel across the Loch. At a dock we raised a red ball marker, whereupon the Ardlui hotel sent a boat to bring us over. Tomorrow’s hike will therefore be 3 kms longer.

This is the third night arriving at our lodging where our suitcase magically awaits us. The luggage carry forward service is absolutely fantastic. The cost is £70 for 7 overnights. You really can’t beat it!
