Today was quite a day. After a 6:45 departure from the hut we ascended a steep 500 meters. The elevation chart doesn’t quite show it because we forgot to start the GPS watch until almost at the top. Thereupon followed, dare we say, a challenging and occasionally harrowing descent of just shy of 2000 m. We all have stories for you for another time. Anyhow, descend we did for quite a few hours. When we thought we were close to Zams – we could see it – it took nearly 3 more hours to get there. We turned in at the Venet Gipfelhütte at the top of a mountain in Zams.
By the way, blogging daily is turning out to be a challenge.

That sounds like a long, extremely challenging but ultimately very rewarding day! It’s fun to read your blogs, Katya, but I can understand how they’d be daunting to write after a challenging day on the mountains. Rest up all of you. Big hug, Florence.
Just magnificent!!! Bravo to you strong and brave women! I climbed Mount Zeus in Naxos, Greece last summer and it was ridiculous, so I truly appreciate your efforts. Please pass on a big hug to Florence. Thanks for including me among your readers.
Great Pictures , outstanding efforts, just the right pre- training in preparation for “K2” 🙂 Please give my best regards to Florence as well . Stay save all of you.
